Northview 77, Northwood 76 (2OT)

Northwood played a great first half and held an 8-point lead going into the fourth quarter, but the Vikings fought back to tie it at the end of regulation.

It looked like the T-Wolves were done in the first overtime as Northview had a 3-point lead and the ball out of bounds with 11 seconds left. But Northwood forced a turnover and Kyle Ruane sank a straightaway 3-pointer to send the game to a second overtime.

The T-Wolves battled all the way but in the end it was a tough loss to end the season.

See you all at the banquet on March 7.

University 59, Northwood 57 (Varsity)

Northwood trailed by six at the half, tied it up after three quarters, then lost a heartbreaker as a last-second Nick Cope shot came up short.

Balanced scoring for the T-Wolves and a great effort against a big front line for the Trojans.

Northwood finishes the regular season at 12-14, 4-6 in PCL play, and is hoping for an at-large bid into the CIF playoffs.

Northwood 51, Woodbridge 46 (Varsity)

On Northwood Senior Night, Woodbridge dominated the first half 28-11, but got ultra-dominated in the second half as Northwood came back to win the greatest game in high school basketball history.

The T-Wolves opened the third quarter with a 15-0 run to climb back into the game. It was nip and tuck the rest of the way. Northwood scored the final five points of the game to put it away.

My sources tell me that this was the first win over Woodbridge for any of the current players. Great contributions from everyone.

The T-Wolves are 12-13, 4-5 in league, with the final game of the regular season scheduled for Wednesday at University.

I got these from Mary Quigley via Vicky Norman. I don’t know who Mary Quigley is but she takes some nice photos.

These are from the Northwood vs. Irvine game.

Northwood took an early lead but University used a half-court trap to force some turnovers and take a 40-19 halftime lead.

The T-Wolves rallied in the second half, led by 20 points from Nick Cope, but couldn’t overcome the deficit.

Christian Scott had 31 points and 11 rebounds for University.

Both teams came into the game with 2-2 league records. Northwood is now 11-11, 2-3 in league. University is 10-10 and 3-2.
